GEORGETOWN, SOUTH CAROLINA:  A ONE-DAY TRAVEL ADVENTURE WITH FRANCES PARNELL
April 21, 2015

Step back in time with each bend of the rivers (five of them) when you join a Low Country Plantation Tour.

We begin with a guided tour of Georgetown, SC where you will see the town homes of the early plantation owners. Then, you will embark upon the rivers for three hours, aboard the Lady Franada covered pontoon boat, for your 35 mile round-trip voyage past 8 or 10 of the plantations. Being a Georgetown native, our captain and guide will share his lifetime experiences as he weaves a magic mixture of antebellum history, low country legend and personal experience on these rivers. Come and enjoy the plantation lifestyle--as it appeared, still draped in Spanish moss, 300 years ago. You will see some familiar places like Brookgreen Gardens, Pawley’s Island and Litchfield from the water. Bring your binoculars as you will also likely see alligators, Bald Eagles, wading birds and other migratory birds.

Board motor coach at 8:00 AM and leave the back parking lot of Winter Park Baptist Church at 8:15 AM, stop for early fast food lunch (on your own--or bring your lunch) at 10:30 AM, and arrive in Georgetown at 11:30 AM. We should return to Winter Park Baptist Church between 8:30 and 9:00 PM.
