“Merriment, drama, and romance will fill the air this day in your life when Tryon Palace reaches the Eve of Revolution. Experience 300 years of Christmases past as families and soldiers came together on the eve of war. You will be introduced to families and soldiers from the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War and World War II. Candlelight invites you to dance the night away with characters in stunning costumes, and tour historic houses adorned with 18th, 19th and 20th century decorations.

This famed NC tradition returns in 2014 with beautiful new decorations and heartwarming holiday vignettes. Join costumed characters in the Governor’s Palace, Stanly House, Hay House, and the Commission House as each home is brought to life with families sharing precious moments of being together during the holidays in times of war.

You will be amazed as performers entertain you with fire eating, magic, slack-rope walking and the heart moving rhythm of Jonkonuu." (Loosely copied from a promo shared by Tryon Palace.)
